jeff wall

it's a different experience when you finally get to see the exhibition -- after looking in books at these images for years.... you get to see them all together; lit up, and large, like jeff wall wanted them. you decide how far or how close you get to them; which angle you stare at them; how long you sit and watch them; how many times you go back to see them.

demolition

the view from my bus stop is sadly, gone. as they were tearing it down a week ago from the inside, i thought to myself "maybe they would preserve the deli pediment" but no such luck.

there is a direct reason as to why i obsess about these shapely bricks -- their slight resemblance to the work of iwanoff. above: nollamara

when you see iwanoff's houses you tend to ask yourself, "is that real?" well, yes it is (i'm still kicking myself) ...extreme beauty...and they exist all over perth. above: iwanoff in dianella

...and I would love to make it out of town to see this library of his in northam. he also designed the town hall there.
